Aura is a personal AI-powered daily flow app developed and operated by Emoria Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"), a Calgary, Alberta-based company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Aura iOS application ("the App").
We are committed to complying with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and Apple's App Store privacy requirements.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Sign in with Apple: When you sign in, Apple provides us with a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we receive a private relay address.
App Data You Create
- Daily flow data: Entries, preferences, and content you create within the App.
- Profile information: Display name and any customization preferences you set.
- AI interactions: Prompts and responses generated through the App's AI features to personalize your experience.
Automatically Collected Information
- Push notification tokens: A device token used to deliver notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Usage analytics: Anonymized, aggregated data about feature usage patterns. We do not track individual behavior for advertising purposes.
- Device information: Basic device type and operating system version for compatibility and issue diagnosis.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Core functionality: To deliver and personalize your daily flow experience within the App.
- AI features: To generate personalized content and recommendations based on your preferences and interactions.
- Push notifications: To send reminders and updates you have opted into.
- App improvement: To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve features, performance, and reliability.
- Customer support: To respond to support requests and troubleshoot technical issues.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for any purpose.

4. Data Sharing
- Apple infrastructure: Sign in with Apple and push notification delivery are processed through Apple's services, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- AI processing: Prompts may be processed by third-party AI services to generate responses. These services do not retain your data for their own training purposes.
- Cloud infrastructure: App data is stored using secure cloud services for synchronization and backup.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Subscriptions & Purchases
Aura may offer optional premium features via in-app subscriptions managed entirely through the Apple App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All subscription transactions are processed by Apple.
6. Data Storage & Security
- Encryption: All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS. Data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard encryption.
- Authentication: Sign in with Apple provides secure, tokenized authentication. We never see or store your Apple ID password.
- Infrastructure: Our servers are hosted with reputable cloud providers that maintain SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001 compliance.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Your data is retained for as long as your account is active and you use the App.
- Account deletion: When you delete your account, we will delete all personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
- Inactive accounts: Accounts inactive for 24 months may be flagged for deletion with prior notification.
8. Children's Privacy
Aura is not directed at individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Your Rights
Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information held by us.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data.
- Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a common format.
- Withdraw consent for push notifications or optional data collection at any time through your device settings.
- File a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.
